|
|
Hi,
I have a Windows 2003 server machine set up as the DHCP server on my network. The DHCP server on my broadband router is disabled.
I am having trouble getting my Budgetone phone to work.
I have set up the router to forward ports 5004 and 5060 to the phone. When the phone powers up it gets an IP address from the DHCP server. It sometimes (but not always) gets the correct date and time, but the black square in the corner never lights up to show it is connected.
When I browse to the status page of the phone the WAN address is always blank.
I have called the helpdesk several times and they said they do not support a setup where the router is not also the DHCP server.
Can anyone help?
BTW my softphone works OK and I have registered the MAC address of the Budgetone phone with iTalk. |

Out of interest, and to eliminate the phone entirely of blame. Have you set the phone up using a static within your network to see if it works as intended?
If the phone works fine on static settings, then you could see if W2k3 is producing any logs about what it's assigning the phone.
Edit: oh and broken record time, is the phone running the latest firmware?
Latest firmware and IP's available HERE _________________ -------------------------------------------
